Victory Day is a moment of immense pride for every Bangladeshi, and Bangladesh Society SC observes this historic day with deep gratitude and respect. On December 16, we honor the triumph of the Bangladeshi people in the Liberation War of 1971—a victory that gave us our identity, our freedom, and our place in the world.
Our Victory Day program brings the community together to reflect on the sacrifices of the brave men and women who fought for our nation. The event features patriotic performances, tribute songs, poetry recitations, and presentations that share stories of resilience, courage, and hope. Youth participants, community talents, and invited guests join us each year to create a heartfelt and meaningful program.
This celebration also plays an important role in educating the next generation. Through cultural tributes, storytelling, and performances, young Bangladeshi-Canadians learn about the values that shaped our independence—unity, bravery, and love for our motherland.
For our community in Canada, Victory Day is more than a ceremony; it is a reminder of our shared heritage and the strength that keeps us connected. Each year, we gather to honor the past, celebrate our identity, and inspire future generations to carry forward our cultural and national pride.
We invite everyone to join us as we commemorate Victory Day with remembrance, dignity, and togetherness.
